This is an odd morning coffee post as its 8 am and I’m sitting here having just finished a night shift. I work 14 days on and 14 days off alternating nights and days. 10 more days to go. So this is more my evening coffee time.
I am currently trying my hand at mining. As a woman in the trades it’s an interesting go. There’s so many things to do and to try. I’m the trailblazer for my company as well. The only woman and working very hard to catch up with the men. My job entails operating a scoop. (Think of a front end loader but shorter to fit into the low spaces underground)
I’m in potash, known as soft rock mining. It’s an interesting world a whole km under the surface. Maybe I’ll write a whole post on my experiences in trades. But for now let’s just go with I just finished a 12 hour run. I’m tired but I still have work to do before bedtime.
